Interactive Guide Grade 4

42 Fourth Grade Non-Core Subjects & Electives

Non-Core Subjects & Electives : : Handwriting

The Catholic Heritage Handwriting series is spiral bound at the top of the page, much like a stenographer’s notebook, but in standard 8½"×11" page size so there is plenty of room for penmanship practice. Most handwriting programs are printed on both sides; Catholic Heritage Handwriting pages are single sided. Level 4 provides cursive practice with a smidgen of tongue-in-cheek humor, in addition to classical and Church Latin language exposure as well. (This level includes some of the most common prayers and responses of the Church in Latin.) Samples: • Week 1, pages 41–42

Non-Core Subjects & Electives : : Map Skills

Map Skills Level D gives students the tools they need to understand and use maps. Bite-size lessons are illustrated in full color. The Teacher’s Guide includes a complete answer key and enrichment ideas for each lesson.

Non-Core Subjects & Electives : : Coloring with the Saints

Coloring with the Saints features the original artwork of Andrea Helen Smith, containing full-page, black-and-white illustrations of over 60 saints of the liturgical year. It may be used as a stand-alone coloring book to help you celebrate the saints of the liturgical year, or as a complementary book to accompany the hands-on religion resource, Saints & Seasons of the Liturgical Year . The coloring pages are arranged by date, making it easy to hand out a coloring page on the feast of a particular saint. Pages are single-sided; after being colored the illustration can be cut out of the book and displayed.
